Overview
Turn Lab is a ski instruction app designed with privacy in mind. We believe your learning journey is personal, and your data should stay that way.
Data Collection
- Local Storage Only: All your skill progress, assessments, and preferences are stored locally on your device using Apple's Core Data framework.
- No Account Required: We don't require registration, login, or any personal information to use the app.
- No Tracking: We do not use analytics, advertising identifiers, or any tracking technologies.
- No Data Sharing: We do not share, sell, or transfer any user data to third parties.
In-App Purchases
- Premium purchases are processed entirely through Apple's App Store.
- We do not have access to your payment information.
- Purchase history is managed by Apple, not by us.
Data Storage
- All app data is stored locally on your device.
- Widget data is shared between the app and widget via App Groups (on-device only).
- There is no cloud sync or external servers for your core data. The only exception is the optional AI Coach feature, where your chat messages are sent to OpenAI to generate responses.
AI Coach Feature
- How It Works: The AI Coach feature allows you to chat with a virtual ski coach. When you send a message, your text is transmitted to OpenAI's servers to generate a response.
- Data Transmitted: Only the text of your conversation is sent. No personal identifiers, device information, or other data is included.
- Conversation Storage: Your conversation history is stored locally on your device. We do not store your conversations on our servers.
- OpenAI's Privacy: Messages sent to OpenAI are subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy. OpenAI may use data to improve their services, subject to their policies.
- Optional Feature: The AI Coach is an optional feature. You can use all other app features without ever using the coach.
Third-Party Content
Turn Lab includes links to YouTube videos for instructional content. When you tap to watch a video, you will be redirected to YouTube's app or website, which is governed by Google's privacy policy.
Children's Privacy
Turn Lab does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. The app is rated 4+ and contains no objectionable content.
